I learned to needlepoint from my friend in 2018. I was hooked! I love the patterns of the canvas, the colors and found basket weave meditative. My friend ended up moving to Paris, COVID struck and I started stitching more. I had found some shops online, but was looking for community. Luckily for me I met Betty at Stitch by Stitch who helped me pull threads and gave stitch suggestions for my first big project, the beach girl (attached). She told me about studio time with Mary Ellen and I signed up. 

On Saturday’s I have learned new stitches, how to pick stitches and taken on challenging and fun projects. The women at Stitch by Stitch have become friends and I am so grateful for the needlepoint community they have created. I love to meet and chat with new stitchers and more experienced experts around the shop. 

I love to make gifts of my stitching, and have developed an ornament problem/obsession. I stitch snarky pillows for myself. Before stitching, I never was a Halloween person, but now I have a spooky tree. I’ve gone to several needlepoint retreats across the country, and am grateful for all the stitchers I have met and become friends with. However, Stitch by Stitch will always be my favorite LNS. It’s my needlepoint home.
